The Union Public Service Commission UPSC as released the notification for the Indian economic service and Indian statistical Service Examination 2025. This prestigious examination aims to recruit qualified candidates for various statistical and economical positions in government.
All candidates are requested to carefully read the rules of Indian economic service/ Indian statistical Service Examination notified by the government and this notice of examination derived from these rules.
Candidate supplying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all eligibility conditions for admission to the examination. There admission at all the stages of the examination will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed the eligible condition. Mere issue of the admission certificate to the candidate will not imply that he/her candidature has been finally cleared by the commission.Verification of eligibility condition with reference to original documents is taken up only after the candidate as qualified for interview/ personality test. The commission takes of verification of all eligibility condition with reference to original documents only after the candidate the as qualified for interview /personality test.
HOW TO APPLY:
Candidates are required to apply online only by using the official website.It is essential for the applicant to register himself/ herself first at one time registration platform,available on the commissions website, and then proceed for filling up the online application for the examination. OTR profile as to be registered only once in lifetime. This can be done anytime throughout the year. If the candidate is already registered,he/she can proceed straight way for filling up the online application for the examination.
MODIFICATION IN OTR PROFILE :
The commission has decided to make the following changes in the one time registration for filling up of the online application.
The following entries in the OTR profile has been made editable until the final submission of application and their after during the correction window.

Gender
Class 10th board examination roll number
The candidates are not allowed to make any changes in the columns relating to the following entries in the OTR profile.
Name
Date of birth
Father’s name
Mother’s name
Mobile number
Email ID.
However,If a candidate reports that he/she has lost access to his /her registered mobile number as well as a register email id,the candidate will have to send a request to the commission for making necessary changes at the along with the following four documents.
Matriculation certificate
Aadhar card or PAN card or passport or driving licence
Recent size photograph
Undertaking in prescribed format.
The Eligible PWBD candidate, who wish to seek assistance of own Scribe, will have to mandatorly provide the details of the own scribe for exam.
In case, a candidate name as changed and there is a mismatch with the name given in his/her matriculation / higher educational certificate, the candidate is required to submit a gazette notification to the defect.however,if the gazette notification is not available with them at present,they may upload the copy of the same during the window, which will be made available to the candidate after the declaration of the result of a written part of the exam.
The candidates having integrated master degree may fill the same course in their graduation as well as higher qualification column.
The candidates are advised to go through the entries made by them in relevant columns before finally submitting the same. It may be noted that after submission of the application, the changes corrections if any,in the entries in the application form,can be carried out only during the one way correction window, which will be provided by the commission after the closing date of the application.
MODIFICATION IN APPLICATION FORM:
The commission has also decided to extend the facility of making corrections in any field of the finally submitted online application form for this examination from next day the of the closer of the application Window of this examination. This window will remain open for 7 days from the date of opening of the same i. e from 05.03.2025 to 11.03.2025. In case a candidate wants to carry out any change in his /her OTR profile during this period, then he /she should login to the OTR profile platform and do the needful accordingly. In other words, no change in the OTR profile can be made by visiting the window for modification in the application form.

Age limit :
A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years 1st August 2025 that is He/She must have been born not earlier than second August 1995 and not later than the first August 2004.
the per age limit prescribed above will be relaxable as follows up to maximum of 5 years if a candidate belong to scheduled caste or schedule to drive up to a maximum of 3 years in the caste of candidate belong to other backward classes were eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates up to a maximum 3 years.
Education Qualification :
A candidate for the Indian economic service must have obtained a post graduate degree in Economics/ applied economics /Business Economics /Econometrics from a University incorporated by of an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act Parliament are declared to be deemed as University under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act 1956 or a foreign University approved by the central government from time to time.
A candidate for the Indian statistical service must have obtained a bachelor degree with statistics/ mathematical statistics/ applied statistics as one of the subject or masters degree in statistics /mathematical statistics /applied statistics from a University incorporated by of an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act Parliament are declared to be deemed as University under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act 1956 or a foreign University approved by the central government from time to time.
